5 Things I Do That Helps With My Anxiety || MagpieMagpie Blog

1. Use Positive Passwords For Things.

Everyday we log into things, phone, computer, email. Where possible I try to use little positive affirmation. Jarek actually suggested this. I wasn’t sure what it would do, but I have to say it works!

If you try it let me know!

2. Drink Less.

I like a drink as much as the next guy, but as I’ve gotten older I find that it really fucks with my head. It can take me weeks to get over a night out and the “FEAR” can be unbearable. Over the years I’ve been drinking less and less, and I have to say my life is better for it. I’m currently on Roaccutaine, so not drinking is a necessity.

3. Have some me time.

Over the last couple of years I’ve felt this is more and more important! I’ve alway been good at getting in some me time, but I tend to leave it till the last minute. So now I try get do something small for me every week. It helps me get my head in the right space and just give me time to concentrate on my needs and whats.

4. Eat Better.

I’ve been REALLY struggling this at the moment. I have absolutely no self control, and can’t seem to stop eating shit!

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to cut anything out, that doesn’t work for me. However, I can’t keep eating the amount of sugar (chocolate and sweets) that I have been eating. I have definitely see it effecting my mental health and energy levels, so I’ve got to cut it down to at least 10%.

5. Organise.

When my anxiety is high I can’t find a thing. From other post and my IG, you’ll know that I’m embracing the Marie Kondo lifestyle. If I have a place for everything and everything in its place, my life is so much more liveable. 2019 is the year I perfect this and really get my head around what works for me.

An example of this – I’m not great with the calendar on my phone so I got myself a pocket one from the Card Factory, for a pound, that I LOVE! I find people try push what works for them onto you, but go with your gut!
