Blank Canvas Brushes F40 F22

14/03/2015

I have no idea why but I have yet to do a review on brushes. I had these photos taken already so I said I’d start with the blank canvas ones I got ages ago at the Beauty Show at the RDS. I often call things by the wrong name and in videos and other post I have called these brushes black canvas but it’s BLANK CANVAS! I didn’t intend to get any brushes at all as I’m very content with my sigma ones, but the purple one caught my eye and then I saw the pointed one, I was sure I saw Jaclyn Hill using one similar in one of her amazing videos so I said sure I’ll have them both.

The purple one, F22 HD Dome foundation brush (it can also be used for blush and contour), the synthetic brush hairs are really packed together, with a short rounded top. The hairs are soft and secure and seems super sturdy. My first impression of the brush was really good, I likes how it worked with my liquid foundation. I think because the brush is so soft and packed together it blended the foundation into my skin giving a really nice polishes look.

I find that due to the style of the brush I need to make sure to clean it down after every use and clean it twice a week. I felt it worked best clean and really gave my foundation a flush flawless look. Even though I bought the brush on a whim I am very pleased with my choice. If you follow me on my other social media you’ll know that I had to change my #WashItWednesday routine, this was due to a few brushes, this one included.

The second brush I chose was the F40 small tapered contour even though it has a boring black handle. But again the brush itself is really nice.  The hairs are soft, long and it tapers in the middle. It’s a great brush for contouring but as my contouring skills are not that of a trained professional, I can’t say for sure that this brush is one to invest in. It’s vegan friendly and it one of the easiest brushes to clean, bonus! I tend to sway more in the direction of the angled contour one, but I plan to concentrate on contouring more this month to get my skill level up. I most defiantly like the idea of this brush and I think once I get my technique down I might be converted. Watch this space.

Would love to hear some brush recommendations from you guys or even videos of contouring tutorials that you love would be fantastic!

I have an army of brushes to so I will slowly but surely get all review up as quickly as I can.
