Everyone loves a good bit of blusher, right?
Well, I must admit that with blusher I did what I always do and tried to fit in with the crowd. I wasn’t a huge fan of blusher for many years, but it seemed to be necessary to finish a make up look, so I sucked it up and tried to love it!
Over the years I’ve tried many, but today we are talking about the Live Love London blush palette. I love me a good palette, so I was attracted to it straight away. I’m always drawn in by packaging and surprise surprise this time was no different. It has a sleek black casing with iridescent text. Inside, I was pleased to find a MASSIVE good quality mirror, six decent sized products, four blush shades, and two highlighter shades.
There was one colour that stood out and blinded me really, it was the brown one. I’d used something similar before and loved it so I was distracted and didn’t take much notice of the fact that all the other colours were very bright and pink, lots of pink. The whole palette has a pink undertone actually, which for me is very unfortunate because pink is NOT my colour.
Even though the colour selection isn’t for me the product itself is quite nice. Not amazing quality but for the price (About £7) it’s not bad. They are a bit chalky, but if you tap your brush off you can achieve a nice subtle buildable colour.
The highlighters are really nice too but again not my colour. If you like a strong highlight in a pink tone they are going to be right up your street!
Unfortunately, due to the colour selection I wont be purchasing this product again, but I’d be really interested to know what Live Love London products you’ve used and what you thought.
Till next week.
Blush is something I was always told from a young age that a lady should always have. A slight flushed cheek, some lip gloss, mascara and you were set. Unfortunately I never quite got the whole less is more with blusher so I always ended up lashing it on and looking like bloody Rosie from Rosie and Jim. Long story short after getting a few too many hurtful comments about it I decided blush was only for old ladies.
Fast forward many year later and to a face full of adult acne, blusher became my trusted companion to help mask the fact that I had, well, caked my face in make- up, so it was just something I felt like I needed to help give my face dimension. I could just never get it right! Well actually most things to do with make-up I struggled with the first few years to be honest!
I’ve been thought sooo many colours and brands, but I think I’ve finally got the hang of it. Not only is less more, but after watching like 100 YouTube videos I have also realised that blushes can enhance or clash with a look.
I’d been trying out sleek products for a good while and came across an online exclusive on boots called “Sleek MakeUp Palette Gift Set“. The thing I was least bothered about was the blush. When it did arrive I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with the blush! And after using it I invested in two other shades!
The colour that arrived in the set was a colour I’d never associate with blush to be honest. It’s called antique and it was this amazing warm nude brown shade with a shimmer. I tend to use this is the winter time more and then in the summer as a contour shade! Two for the price of one!!
I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the shade Rose Gold, I don’t think I need to say why, you’ve seen my Pinterest account.
And I have no idea why, but I decided I needed Life’s a Peach… It’s this super peach colour that I can only wear very VERY sparingly and in the summer, any other time and it feels wrong. It does look good with a coral lip though, I went through a phase there in the summer of only wearing a coral lip so it was only right to have a matching cheek. Ha Ha!!
This blush was featured in my March favourite’s video. I’ve been loving it!! I only have one but I will 100% be investing in more. The shade I picked up was Seductive Pink. I think I chose this one because it had a very slight purple tone and I love purple so I think I did it without thinking but it was a good life choice!!
Blush is something I love and wear daily, but I never really get right. Today’s blush is Bourjouis in Rose Amber 74 (I have a good few colours but this is the one I use most). Perhaps don’t take my recommendation on colour but they have lots of colours to choose from so I’m sure everyone is bound to find one that suits.
