Face Halo “cloth” is a game changer! You might remember from my new years resolutions I was keen to cut down on waste and be better for the environment.
My first port of call was cotton wool! I changed to the boots organic range which I was happy with but felt I was using so much of it!
Enter Annie with her fantastic skincare finds!
Annie, is a friend from my old job, who was very kind and got me a few ‘sorry your leaving’ gifts and in this delightful collection were the Face Halo. They were something I’d never heard of, but literally the perfect gift, thanks Annie!
Basically you add water and it wipes off all your makeup! Sounds too good to be true right… I thought to myself, they must be full of chemicals, I’ll have to replace them all the time, they won’t do what they say they can. Well how wrong I was!
They are great! You can use them with warm or cold water, but for me using cold water just didn’t feel right. So warm water it was. I just wiped it over my face like a cotton pad and watch the magic happen. They are so impressive. The best part is you are not using unnecessary chemicals of your skin AND after use you just pop them in the washing machine (with light colours… unfortunately one of mine is now grey 🙁 ) ready to reuse again and again.
Hi Lovelies, sorry I haven’t been on here in a while. I hope you’ve all been keeping well and that 2018 is being good to you. x
This week its all about my winter skincare essentials. I hope you enjoy x
Skincare is a big part of my life but more often than not I don’t spend a huge amount on it.
However over the past few years there are some skincare items that I’m more than happy to spend the money on. Here are my top five!
1. Clarins Hand Cream
I love this stuff all year round, but when the winter time comes my hands are in much need of moisture. I’ve used a number of hand creams over the years but this has to be my tried and tested. It is expensive, BUT it is a large tube and a little goes a long way! I tend to use about a pea (or smarties) sized amount each time, an almond size amount if I’ve had a cleaning frenzy! I’m not super keen on strong smelling hand creams as sometimes it can bring on a migraine, so this one is perfect for me! It has a slight scent, but its more like a “natural” cream scent. It absorbs really well, doesn’t leave a residue, and leaves my hands super moisturised and soft! It claims to also help with age spots and strengthen nails, I can’t vouch for these claims so I’ll leave it here.
This hand cream for me is the one to beat so if there is a hand cream you love, let me know in the comments below. I’m always on the hunt for new products!
2. Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector
Again I use this all year round but with all the air conditioning and the cold air my lips are begging for it. I use lipstick during the day, but by the time I get home my lips are in desperate need of some hydration.
Winter is officially here, and it’s about this time every year I do the change over, mainly clothes but this year I’ve added in some skincare bits too.
Today its all about the Una Brennan facial oil. There is a myth that people with oily skin shouldn’t use oils but thats a lie. My advice is to use them sparingly.
I have no idea why but I love the Super Facialist packaging, they make my (horrible) bathroom cabinet look so pretty and like a spa. I’m addicted and always want to try something new. This product is a 30ml bottle and has a very convenient pump, you can clearly see the golden colour in the bottle which I find quite pleasing to the eye.
I tend to use this product once a week after a long relaxing shower. I have a whole pamper routine organised and it features this delightful oil.
I follow the instructions (kind of) and pump out a generous amount (about 2 pumps) and worm it through my hands. Then when I feel the temperature is right I gently apply to my face and neck. The feeling of this is just divine, and instantly puts me in a better mood. It feels so lux and nourishing.
Simple is a brand I go back to time and time again. Its odd because it’s not my favourite skincare, but if I’m in a pinch it’s the one I always go back to as it never fails me.
I’ve been using their micellar water on and off for a while now, so I thought it was about time I told you guys what I think of it! As we all know I love me a good micellar water, and as I’m keen on simple, I was keen to try this one.
Simple are known for being “sensitive skin experts”, it states it on their packaging, which is great for me and my skin can be very temperamental.
The packaging stays true to the Simple look, I like that is has this kind of sand blasted look. It makes it stand out from the crowd a bit.
The bottle is a good size(200ml) and the price isn’t too bad either, coming it at £4.94. Boots often do deals on it too, so I always try to keep an eye out!
Like with all Simple products, there is not much of a smell. It has a hint of something, but not that artificial smell you can get with some skincare. I know strange because there are so many things that make me want to love this product, but I can’t say it’s going to be one for the Ride Or Die pile.
A good face wash is a very important and key in the fight against acne. Over the past few months I have been trying many but the first I want to talk about is Simple Oil Balancing exfoliating wash.
It has a thick gel like texture with fine exfoliating granules in it.
