Catrice Colour Correct Mattifying Compact Powder

16/02/2015

If you have read my other posts on Powder you know how much of a fan I am of them. For me they are necessity, I have such oily skin that I need it to set my make-up and control shine. The last few months I’ve been using the Catrice Colour Correct Mattifying Compact Powder. I went in to Penny to get a few things and I was running out of powder so I said I’d have a look to see what they had, I’d heard good things about Catrice, months ago So Sue Me had said she used their Nude Illusion Loose Powder.

I spotted this and sure I couldn’t walk away, it was everything I could ask for in a powder. It does exactly what it says on the tin. It has a very interesting look to the product, it has kind of a marble effect with four colours running through it purple, pink, beige and green. I root around until I find one with the mostly green in it as that’s what neutralises the redness.

The packing on all catrice products are always nice, this comes in a nice sleek case with a see trough lid so you can see the product. I see why they did this because the colours is what attracted me to the product but I love it when powders come with a good quality mirror in them. The powder untra fine which isn’t too pigmented, some people may see this as a negative, but for me it’s perfect as I tend to cake on the powder so this lets me build it up gradually.  As you guys will know I suffer from acne so I love the colour correcting in this powder. It’s not too heavy so it doesn’t cake but does mattify. The one thing I usually notice with powder that I don’t like is the tendency they have to change the colour of my foundation, this one does but in a nice calm the red on my face sort of way and it most definitely evens out my skin tone and give a naturally healthy look. The only drawback is that I do need to keep an eye on my oiliness and top up every now and again. At the moment it’s one of my favourite drugstore powders.

Give it a try and let me know your thoughts.
