Halloween Lip Product Liquid Lipstick

7 Vampie Lippies for Halloween | MagpieMagpie.ie

27/10/2017

I’m sure you’ve guessed by now that I’m  huge fan of Halloween. I used to have big Parties when I was younger and always love to do some bakes and have a girly movie night!

It’s a perfect time to crack out my more vampy shades that I’m mad for! I have seven options for you, one for each day of Halloween week.

Some are better than other, but I LOVE the colour of each one and the wear or bleeding is a small price to pay in my eyes!

1. Revlon – Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor in Infatuation (675)

I love these Liquid Lippies, I think they will defo be featuring in my 2017 Ride or Dies. This is a deep wine colour, that I just can’t get enough of! It wears really well! It does bleed a bit, but most lippies do on me so it doesn’t bother me. The colour pay of is amazing and the lasting power is good. The best thing about these lippies are the feel on the lips. They are not drying and I never feel the need to chew my face off when I wear them. The price isn’t half bad either, coming in at £8.99. Hence why I love them!!

Acne Skincare Super Facialist

Super Facialist || Rose Miracle Makeover Facial Oil

05/10/2017

Winter is officially here, and it’s about this time every year I do the change over, mainly clothes but this year I’ve added in some skincare bits too.

Today its all about the Una Brennan facial oil. There is a myth that people with oily skin shouldn’t use oils but thats a lie. My advice is to use them sparingly.

I have no idea why but I love the Super Facialist packaging, they make my (horrible) bathroom cabinet look so pretty and like a spa. I’m addicted and always want to try something new. This product is a 30ml bottle and has a very convenient pump, you can clearly see the golden colour in the bottle which I find quite pleasing to the eye.

I tend to use this product once a week after a long relaxing shower. I have a whole pamper routine organised and it features this delightful oil.

I follow the instructions (kind of) and pump out a generous amount (about 2 pumps) and worm it through my hands. Then when I feel the temperature is right I gently apply to my face and neck. The feeling of this is just divine, and instantly puts me in a better mood. It feels so lux and nourishing.  Continue Reading

Beauty Blush Blusher & Highlighter

Live Love London || MakeUp Obsession London

15/09/2017

Everyone loves a good bit of blusher, right?

Well, I must admit that with blusher I did what I always do and tried to fit in with the crowd. I wasn’t a huge fan of blusher for many years, but it seemed to be necessary to finish a make up look, so I sucked it up and tried to love it!

Over the years I’ve tried many, but today we are talking about the Live Love London blush palette. I love me a good palette, so I was attracted to it straight away. I’m always drawn in by packaging and surprise surprise this time was no different. It has a sleek black casing with iridescent text. Inside, I was pleased to find a MASSIVE good quality mirror, six decent sized products, four blush shades, and two highlighter shades.

There was one colour that stood out and blinded me really, it was the brown one. I’d used something similar before and loved it so I was distracted and didn’t take much notice of the fact that all the other colours were very bright and pink, lots of pink. The whole palette has a pink undertone actually, which for me is very unfortunate because pink is NOT my colour.

Even though the colour selection isn’t for me the product itself is quite nice. Not amazing quality but for the price (About £7) it’s not bad. They are a bit chalky, but if you tap your brush off you can achieve a nice subtle buildable colour.

The highlighters are really nice too but again not my colour. If you like a strong highlight in a pink tone they are going to be right up your street!

Unfortunately, due to the colour selection I wont be purchasing this product again, but I’d be really interested to know what Live Love London products you’ve used and what you thought.

Till next week.

Acne Simple Skincare

Micellar Cleansing Water || Simple

29/08/2017

Simple is a brand I go back to time and time again. Its odd because it’s not my favourite skincare, but if I’m in a pinch it’s the one I always go back to as it never fails me.

I’ve been using their micellar water on and off for a while now, so I thought it was about time I told you guys what I think of it! As we all know I love me a good micellar water, and as I’m keen on simple, I was keen to try this one.

Simple are known for being “sensitive skin experts”, it states it on their packaging, which is great for me and my skin can be very temperamental.

The packaging stays true to the Simple look, I like that is has this kind of sand blasted look. It makes it stand out from the crowd a bit.

The bottle is a good size(200ml) and the price isn’t too bad either, coming it at £4.94. Boots often do deals on it too, so I always try to keep an eye out!

SimpleMicellerWaterCloseUp

Like with all Simple products, there is not much of a smell. It has a hint of something, but not that artificial smell you can get with some skincare. I know strange because there are so many things that make me want to love this product, but I can’t say it’s going to be one for the Ride Or Die pile. Continue Reading

Beauty EyeLiner Maybelline

Liquid Liner || Maybelline Master Ink

17/08/2017

I can’t live without liner, so if a blogger or youtuber I follow mentions anything about a liquid liner you can see the poof marks in the air, I’m off to get it and try it.

I was in search of a new liner that was easily accessible here in Jersey Channel Islands, so when I saw Hello October ( I think…) mention a Maybelline one, I knew I had to try it.

Like me, she’s super fussy about the nib and looks for what I look for, so I felt pretty confident I’d like it.

MaybellineMasterInk_MagpieMagpie

I marched down to my local Boots and picked myself up the Maybelline Master Ink Liquid Liner.

First off I’ll say I wasn’t blown away by the packaging, it’s a bit shite really, no worse than anything else I’ve used but just same same but different.

The wand was what I was most concerned about though. I don’t tend to like the really stiff felt tip ones, and favour the more brush like style. At first glance I was a tad disappointed because it looked like the felt tips I hate, but once I tried it on my hand I realised it was firm yet soft almost like a brush but not exactly.

MaybellineMasterInkMagpieMagpie

I have to say I adore using this product. Yes it can get on my lashes but most of them do, especially if you favour this type of wand. It applies so well, I find with other types of liners I can be there for ages trying to build up a decent wing, but this just glides on and comes out strong first time. I find the wand so easy to use. It’s like it has the perfect amount of product on it once its been taking out of the “pot”, and I know I said it already but I love that the wand is not too firm. I do love me a good “brush” wand (if you get what I mean) but I’m digging this felt tip one. Continue Reading

Foundation Lightening Drops Ride Or Die The Body Shop

Shade Adjusting Drops || The Body Shop

13/07/2017

Pale like a ghost like me and struggle to find your perfect foundation shade? This product might be the answer!

I’ve always struggled to find the perfect colour match when it came to foundation, but over the years I nailed it! Unfortunately since starting a new round of acne medication things have changed. For reasons beyond my control my skin has decided it wants to oxidize. My skin has always done this, but since being on the medication its on another level!

My ride or die foundation is the Revlon Colourstay, and my colour (when I’ve no tan on) is 150 Buff. This was always a tiny bit too dark, but it was the right tone and I could always make it work by bringing the foundation down my neck and blending everything out really well!

Since being on the medication this oxidizes a lot and unless I wear some tan, it is quite obvious that it does not match me. I’ve been heart broken, so when I heard of these shade adjusting drops I was soooo excited. There are a good few on the market, but the one I found was The Body Shop Lightening Shade Adjusting Drops (they have darkening ones too).

MagpieMagpie_TheBodyShopLighteningDrops

How they work is you pump out your foundation as normal onto the back of your hand or onto a palette and then add one drop. Mix well and check the colour, if needed, more drops can be added. This stuff is fantastic if you only need to adjust the shade with a drop or two, any more and it changes the foundation coverage. Mine became more of a medium coverage and didn’t last as long throughout the day. If I needed to add more than two drops of the Shade Adjusting Drops it can also affects the SPF, so do bare that in mind.

I liked the packaging of these drops. It has a lovely glass bottle with a dropper, but my dropper was shite!!! It didn’t do its job very well, I could only get about one drop at a time because the pump didn’t work well all the time.

MagpieMapgie_ShadeAdjustingDrops

The thing I think I like most about this product is that is mixes we’ll with all the foundations I’ve used it with. I’ve found when mixing different foundations together, they don’t always work well. I’ve tried this out with a number of foundations and these drops are a great, they mix in so well, flawless even. The only con I would say it that it can effect the coverage.

I’ve used this product a lot over the past year and would highly recommend it to people like me who have the perfect foundation, but need to adjust the colour slightly. They are for sure one of my current Ride Or Die products and I can’t wait to try other brands!

Barry M Beauty Mascara

That’s How I Roll Mascara || Barry M

01/05/2017

Mascara is the bane of my life!! I’ve been searching for my ride or die for years! Over this time I have found many, but every time they become discontinued. Its one of the most frustrating things!

I’m yet to find my latest ride or die, but never the less I’m here to chat about yet another mascara!

Barry M is one of my favourite drugstore brands. I adore their nail paint and have dipped in and out of a few other products. I’m a sucker for their packaging and their mascara packaging always speaks to me. This time was no different.

You would never think it, but purple is my favourite colour! So even though there are a good few to choose from the purple one was the 1st one I went for (there was no rose gold one at this stage).

MagpieMagpie_ThatsHowIRollMascaraBarryM

There were no testers so I had no idea what the wond would be like, but was pleasantly surprised! It has what I can a hedgehog wond. Meaning it’s stiff with largish stiff bristles. I find this style easier to manage and gives my lashes more definition.

This wand is actually quite cool, its kinda double sided. It has a “normal” side and a shorter side. I know that sounds so odd, but its actually quite useful. I use the “normal” side on my top lashes and the shorter side for my bottom lashes.

MagpieMagpie_ThatsHowIRollWand

MagpieMagpie_ThatsHowIRollMascara

The mascara itself is fine, really good actually. It applies to the lashes well, coats them, lengthens them, but it is a small bit clumpy when I apply it fast.  The wear is great too! It lasts AMAZINGLY well all day with absolutely no smudging. I’ve also had quite an emotional few months and spent most days crying and it doesn’t budge. I do find it a bit heavy on the lashes though and it is (for me) a nightmare to get off no matter what I use! Its there days later and I’ve hurt my eye trying to scrub it off!

There are a number of positives about this mascara that will defiantly have me reaching for it again, but due to the heaviness on the lashes and the fact I can’t get it off it’s not my ride of die, so my search continues.
