How are we all? I know you haven’t heard from me in a while on here, but hopefully you’ve been stalking me on instagram. I have also been trying to get better at Facebook… thats not going great ha ha.
It’s been a hot minute (as the cool kids say) since I’ve done a good old fashioned foundation review.
It’s been a tricky subject for me as being on the roaccutane has really changed my skin.
When I first started using the L’Oreal Infaillible 24H Fresh Wear Foundation my skin was blemish riddled and very oily. I hadn’t heard any of the hype I was just trying so hard to find a whiter than white colour match because I knew tan wouldn’t be an option for me in the coming months.
If you guys can believe it, NO. 15 Porcelaine is the perfect match shade for me. I know WTF right.
I’m not a huge fan of the initial application (which is sad coz I’ve realised that’s one of my favourite parts about putting on makeup). It just doesn’t look or feel quite right on the skin, but once the oils in my face start doing there thing I can’t get over how much I love this foundation on the skin. I’m not sure why but once the foundation mixes with the natural oils in your skin it completely changes the look of the foundation on the skin. It looks smoother, blurs out any imperfections and wears all day like a dream, even touch ups are easy.
Now let’s skip forward to a few months later when my skin has become dry. Not happy when it goes on and not impressed as the day goes on. All I can say with this one is that if you have dry skin I don’t think this one will be for you. By all means give it a go, we might think we have similar skin, but its always good to form your own opinions. If you can get a tester pot do it and I’d say after the first application you’ll know if it’s for you.
The foundation itself is quite a runny consistency, that’s medium to full coverage and in my opinion works best with a beauty sponge of some sort. It blends well and powders blend well over it too. I was impressed with the shade range, but my opinion is biased because they actually had my shade. We all know I’m a fan of a drug store foundation and you can’t beat it when Boots has their 3 for 2 offer on. The packaging is not bad, tall slim soft square shape. Thats right up my street.
I’ll have to wait and see what happens with my skin over the next few months, but if it goes back to being a oily ( and I mean normal person oily, not Schweppie oily) I’d defo purchase this again.
Are you a fan of a full coverage foundation? Or do you go for more of a my skin but “better” look. Let me know in the comments.
Till next time.
